Petrofac wins US$229m Iraq contract
Will work on BP’s Rumaila field

UK-BASED oil services firm Petrofac has been awarded a US$229m maintenance contract on a BP-operated field in Southern Iraq.
The company will carry out the inspection, maintenance and repair contract for the Rumaila field as a joint venture with China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (CPECC). The deal covers the inspection, maintenance and repair of degassing stations, rotating machinery and pumping stations.
Marwan Chedid, CEO of Petrofac’s engineering, construction, operations and maintenance division, says that the contract “is testament to Petrofac’s ability to deliver to a high standard in Iraq and builds on the success … achieved over the past year in this field.”
