Launched in March 2015, the IChemE Energy Centre is a forum for the chemical and process engineering community to provide decision makers around the world with expert advice on energy issues, while highlighting the role of chemical engineers in meeting the energy challenge that society faces.  The Centre will do this by actively engaging with policy debates, responding to consultations and requests for evidence, and producing green and white papers.

We are now seeking a Manager to lead the centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a coherent IChemE voice on energy policy matters, securing the support of IChemE members (including the Centre’s Board and Leadership Forum), while also formulating clear and compelling energy policy positions to influence decision makers around the world.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leading on the development of responses to consultations & requests for evidence, and on green and white papers, ensuring that these outputs are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Developing a communications strategy, identifying the target audiences and the most appropriate channels and platforms required to raise the profile of the Centre and its output.
  • Recruiting and line managing two part-time Energy Centre Executives, one based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and one based in Melbourne, Australia (together equivalent to approximately 1.2 FTE).
