Working inside the installation the role is to drive the adoption of process safety best practice. This includes training & coaching as well as applying technical principals as specified by the business. The role also ensures that compliance to the COMAH regulations are maintained, thus offering the optimum service to our internal customers.
The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Process Safety Engineer for our Long Products business located at Scunthorpe. The role holder will be responsible for developing people and systems to ensure we meet the highest internal and external process safety standards. This will include facilitating, monitoring, and investigating where necessary process safety performance and providing support in the delivery of process safety improvement plans within the manufacturing units.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent level qualification in chemical or process engineering, and a process engineering or energy background and be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of all aspects Process Safety Management. They will already have substantial experience of applying risk assessment tools and techniques in a process, chemical or energy business and be able to lead HAZOP, LOPA, HAZID, SIL, and QRA Studies. Beyond this, we’ll depend on your effective communication skills to influence the senior managers of the organisation, and your ability to meet the health and process safety demands of a growing business with your broad knowledge of various engineering disciplines.
