Ref 30595: Our client has varied and interesting work across all phases of projects and this is an opportunity to join the management team of one of the industry’s leading contractors. You will be based in the Surrey office, where they execute a broad portfolio of Conceptual Studies, Front End Engineering and Detailed Engineering for the Oil and Gas sector. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will show aptitude for corporate management of the entire team of engineers in the Subsea Engineering group. The Group Subsea Engineering Discipline Head develops primary goals, operating plans, policies and objectives, and is accountable for the technical quality of the Group. Responsible for the allocation of resources to projects, the manager will also be involved in the development and performance assessment of individuals in the team. A hands-on approach is essential to manage subsea engineering performance across our projects, interfacing with clients and internal customers to provide a responsive and technically robust solution to project issues. The successful candidate must be: degree educated or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline; have an excellent knowledge of subsea engineering principles, as applied to offshore subsea facilities (SURF) engineering and design; be experienced in both shallow and deepwater project environments; able to manage a team of engineers with a range of experience; able to think innovatively, practically and pragmatically; take a flexible and responsive approach; be capable of structuring bespoke technical reports and presentations and able to clearly present complex issues to clients; act as focal point for Subsea Engineering (SURF) issues, with the ability to resolve them or utilise specialist resources to arrive at a solution; be a strong communicator
