CompactGTL’s technology is based on proprietary reactor designs for both Steam Methane Reforming (SMR) and Fischer Trope (FT) processes. These reactors are a novel design based on mini channels, giving a reactor that is compact and produces process intensified reactions. The design, manufacture and delivery of these reactors form a core component of CompactGTL’s business.

CompactGTL has a 0.1 bpd UK Pilot Plant facility at Wilton in the North East of England, and its head office and laboratory facility is in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The company has a major EPC contract with Petrobras, the Brazilian state-owned oil company, for a 20 bpd commercial demonstration plant that has been operational since December 2010.

The Mechanical Project Engineer – Reactors will be responsible for providing mechanical engineering support to projects that is required to deliver completed reactors by liaising with and managing manufacturers, engineering contractors and consultants. Reporting to the Project Manager – Reactors, the Mechanical Project Engineer will be responsible for:

• Providing in-house project mechanical engineering, including manufacturer design and fabrication documentation review.

• General project engineering activities within company QA frameworks.

• Liaising with and managing various contractors and consultants to deliver technical scopes including post operational analysis, third party authorised inspector design review.

• Provide Quality Assessment of reactor component fabrication, assembly and construction.

• Managing and co-ordinating a 3-party project for prototype scale automation test rigs in the UK (to demonstrate an aspect of mass production techniques that will be required for commercial scale reactor production)
