£27,428 to £35,788 a year (with potential progression to £37,990 a year) Post is available from January 2012 for a period of 24 months. A Research Fellow position is available to work in the field of emulsion design and processing within the microstructure group within Chemical Engineering.

We seek an experienced chemical engineer or chemist to build mechanistic models of emulsion design of Pickering stabilized water in oil systems using food materials – particularly food surfactants/ Pickering particles – for construction of interfacial layers and to build unique processes for food design.

The ideal candidate will have completed, or be near completion of a PhD or EngD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or a related subject area. Previous experience in emulsification is desirable; supervision of research students would be an advantage. The successful candidate should have good communication and team working skills and the ability to write clearly and succinctly.
