We are the UK’s largest generator of electricity from renewable sources, owning and operating almost half of the UK’s total renewable generation capacity.

SSE Hornsea, part of the SSE Group, owns and operates the largest onshore gas storage facility in the UK, at Atwick in East Yorkshire. We are currently completing the development of a second gas storage site nearby at Aldbrough. Both of these sites are at the forefront of the gas industry in the increasingly important gas storage sector.

We are currently recruiting an experienced Site Manager to be based out of the Hornsea Gas Storage facility. Reporting to the Head of Operations for Gas Storage, you will be responsible for leading the top tier COMAH site to ensure the highest standards of safety are met alongside continuous improvement in operating performance.

Depending on background, you will also hold lead responsibility across the Gas Storage operating business for all aspects of production, engineering or project management.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a Chartered Engineer and be Degree qualified in an Engineering or related discipline

• Have previous senior operational or engineering leadership experience preferably on a Top Tier COMAH site

• Have gas storage, oil and gas or similar process industry cross-functional engineering or production experience

• Be able to demonstrate strong safety leadership experience

• Demonstrate proven team leadership experience, with the ability to be effective at all levels in the organisation
