Graduate employment

Salaries and benefits

Atkins’ total remuneration package includes a competitive basic salary and range of benefits, merit-based salary increments, a performance related discretionary bonus plan and the opportunity to participate in the various share plans offered to employees.

Training and development

Training and development form an integral part of our business strategy and our Graduate Programme is designed to develop Atkins’ technical and managerial leaders of the future. Within the Process Business Unit a wide variety of activities are undertaken by graduates including front end design, detailed design, safety engineering and process simulation.

The work is either in our offices (Aberdeen, Glasgow, Stockton, Stockport, and Epsom) or on site. Some travel including overseas and offshore should be expected. Following training there is the opportunity to transfer to one of our overseas offices. Technical skills are gained through project based assignments and taught through a combination of on-the-job training – working with professionally qualified colleagues; and formal training. Training programmes are individually tailored through discussion between graduate and line manager and we will support you through to chartered status as a chemical engineer.

Candidates must have a minimum of a 2.1 degree in chemical engineering or related subject.
