Company profile

British Energy is one of the UK’s electricity generators, supplying around 20% of the country’s power. We own and run the eight most modern nuclear power stations in the UK, but we are also investing in other forms of energy production, including renewable energy sources such as offshore wind generation.

Practical – Professional – Personal

Although we set high standards in our selection of graduates, we are realistic in appreciating there is still a lot to learn after your degree.

We will provide you with the right environment where you can learn from your peers, Development Officer and senior managers, and be encouraged and assisted by a mentor. An individually tailored programme of training will be developed for you, in consultation with your Development Officer and mentor, and we operate an ongoing appraisal programme and encourage Personal Development Plans.

Our graduate programme meets the accreditation requirements for many of the major professional institutions and we support graduates to achieve professional qualifications in their field.

Practical assistance is available in the form of on-the-job training and coaching; internal and external courses; open learning and personal study; and varied work experience, secondments and projects.

British Energy is committed to equality of opportunity. We aim to reflect the diversity of the community and encourage applications from minority ethnic and disabled groups and women, as they are underrepresented amongst our staff.
