CCS Development Engineer – Capture

 

Longannet Power Station - Kincardine on Forth

£42,800 - £53,500 + 10% bonus + single cover healthcare

 

ScottishPower, part of the Iberdrola Group, is a leading supplier in the UK gas and power markets. Our business is ever changing and to support our future needs, we are looking to recruit an engineer to support and develop ScottishPower’s strategy on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) through the provision of expert knowledge of current and future technologies.

 

We expect you to establish an expert position on CCS within the business, being recognised as the first point of contact for CCS technology. You will be responsible for ensuring that all our projects comply with relevant capture readiness criteria and that all future projects make use of the most efficient and cost effective technology. Also, you will take responsibility for leading a range of CCS research projects, cascading this knowledge to the relevant areas of the business.

 

Ideally you’ll have a degree-level qualification in process/ chemical engineering and will be able to demonstrate a broad range of technical and project management skills, gained through experience in process industries.

 

The person we seek is as unique as the role. ScottishPower is investing heavily in Carbon Capture and Storage and the successful applicant will play a pivotal role in helping shape our business in the years to come.
